Turin is a magic city, austere and elegant, surrounded by the Alps and dominated by medieval porticos and monarchic architectures recalling its history as capital of the Savoy Reign. But Turin is also a working class city which experienced a profound transformation during the 19th and the 20th centuries, making it the heart of the car manufacturing industry in Italy. Afterwards, the old production areas were reconverted and new centres of interest for all its population were created. In 2006, Turin was transformed, once again, through new urban and architectural interventions to host the XX Olympic Winter Games. On top of this, it is impossible to mention the city without relating it to its culinary tradition and to its region, Piemonte, to be tasted and discovered.
